It is handmade in my studio in Cornwall and each piece is created using layers of thin coloured bullseye glass with crushed and powdered glass to create the texture and detail.Â
The texture creates a large surface area to allow reflection and sparkle of natural light. The transparent glass allows light to pass through and the slim footprint allows the glass to be displayed on a narrow shelf or windowsill. Candles can also be lit behind the glass to create a lovely ambience.Â
This image is inspired by the iconic “Nearly Home trees” on the Devon / Cornwall border at Lifton, also known as Cookworthy Knapp. Many weary travellers love this heartwarming image when arriving back in Cornwall. Iridised spring green glass is complimented with Aventurine Green and jade green and texture is incorporated to increase light reflections.
It is 6cm tall and approx 23cm wide. The wave is signed.
Each piece of my glass is created without templates or machinery so no two pieces are identical, therefore pieces may differ slightly from photographs.
